Notepad and WordPad – Microsoft Windows included text editors. ![]() ![]() A dialog box will appear, prompting you to confirm that you want to convert your document. Just open the rich text document in TextEdit, navigate to Format in the upper part of the screen, and select Make Plain Text, or press Shift+Command+T. Switching to plain text mode is as simple. Converting your document to plain text removes all formatting, images, attachments, and document properties. Step 2: A confirmation dialog box displays. To do so, open your rich text document in TextEdit and go to Format > Make Plain Text. This app allows you to write in two ways: in RTF (rich text format), which allows you to apply standard formatting, and even add images to files, and plain text. You'll find it in the Applications folder. Your Mac comes with a text editor: TextEdit. You can also save your documents in a different format, so they're compatible with other apps. With TextEdit, you can open and edit rich text documents created in other word processing apps, including Microsoft Word and OpenOffice. ![]()
